We all have received scratches and scrapes on our cars. They can come from a rock thrown up from a truck on the highway (Rocky Mountain Road Rash), or its as easy as a parking lot ding from someone in a hurry or even an errant grocery cart. Most of these are unavoidable. They can happen even if you park far away from stores and regardless of the measures you take to protect your car. Not only do they detract from your cars beauty, but they can also make your car susceptible to rust and the environment.
Quality work at a good price
Took my car in today because of some scratches that needed to be buffed out. Not only were the light scratches taken care of, but the owner was able to paint in the deeper scratches and seal it off with clear coat, which was above and beyond my expectations... and he's a friendly, knowledgeable guy, too. Very good experience overall.
Its not worth going to a auto paint and body store for scratch repairs. They will charge 10 times more for repairs we can easily repair. Repairing a rock chip on a car is a fairly quick procedure. There are two ways of fixing a rock chip: You either touch it up with a little tiny paintbrush, literally the size of a pinhead almost, or do airbrush repair. With the former, you first look up the paint code in the same way as when you have a bumper to repair. We find out what the paint color code is, then mix the paint in a little touch-up bottle. We go around the car and touch up every little rock chip.
Fixing a rock chip this way is not a perfect repair. It’s what you do when you have normal wear and tear, just small rock chips and minor scratches. It takes away the unsightly blemish, the initial eyesore, so where you are walking round the car about two feet away you do not notice them anymore.
The other way is you can fix things is by an airbrush repair, on rock chips and scratches that are a little bigger, like a quarter-inch wide. We perform an airbrush repair on that by spraying the paint into the chip with a little airbrush, then let that dry and wipe the excess off around the chip, leaving paint in the chip.
Scratch repair is different than repairing rock chips or airbrush repair. It is when scratches are on your vehicle but they are not so deep they go into the paint; they are only in the clear coat. Those are repaired by color sanding then use a buffer and a buffing compound to buff them out.
We can also repair and repaint most bumper, mirrors, spoilers.
If you need touch-up paint for your car, bring it in and we will mix some for you to match your car.
